Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side Of The Moon” is one of the most progressive, iconic, and commercially successful pieces of music recorded in the past 100 years. If I were to give you one recommendation , I would say that if you aren’t going to listen to this album by yourself and with headphones. Don’t listen to it. Music is subjective and everyone enjoys it differently but I would highly recommend listening to it in this way. This piece of art is so much easier to appreciate under those circumstances.
The use of ambience and other small sounds is so prevalent and adds so much to this album. It has made for some of the most iconic and distinguishable sounding tracks that Progressive Rock has ever seen like “Money”. “Dark Side Of The Moon” is 42 minutes straight of some of the most abstract, beautiful, music that our ears have ever heard and I highly recommend you give it a listen.
